* That's Bowling Green, Ohio, in the case of the National Construction Equipment Museum

The National Corvette Museum isn’t the only museum of motorized machines located in Bowling Green.

OK, so the Corvette museum is in Bowling Green, Kentucky, while the National Construction Equipment Museum is in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Historical Construction Equipment Association reports that even with equipment displayed out of doors on the 80-acre property, the 7,000-square-foot facility no longer is adequate — and notes that sitting out in the Midwestern weather doesn’t help the equipment.

Thus “The Big Push,” an effort to raise money for a 20,000-square-foot building that can handle machines of all sizes. As part of push, the owner of Ohio CAT has pledged to match the next $500,000 in donations so ground breaking can be scheduled during 2022.

The museum hosts the International convention and Old Equipment Exposition from September 16-18, 2022, and hopes to use that event to unveil its reassembled 150-ton 1974 Terex Titan 33-15 mining dump truck.

‘Emergency!’ stars Kevin Tight and Randy Mantooth visit the museum in 2020

The Los Angeles County Fire Museum is home to apparatus used in the Emergency! television series, which it calls “the most influential television show dedicated to firefighters.”

The museum says the show was responsible for recruiting “countless” men and women into the fire services.

The museum, which has restored the ambulance used in the TV series, planned a 50th anniversary of the show’s debut for January 14-16, 2022, but that celebration has been postponed and is being rescheduled.

British museum celebrates West Midlands industry

“Factor Us In” is the title for a special evening January 18 at the British Motor Museum, which is celebrating the West Midlands auto industry with an exhibit which opened in July and runs until the summer of 2022.

Visitors also can hear from museum curator Catherine Griffin and others who put the exhibit together.
