Goodguys open 2022 shows to more vehicles with new 25-year rule

Our weekly roundup of car show news and notes

-

The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has announced its 2022 show schedule and announced a 25-year rolling rule that opens those events to more vehicles.

For 2021 events, only vehicles produced before 1988 have been eligible to participate in Goodguys events. But beginning with the new year, the 25-year-rule will mean that vehicles produced before 1998 are eligible.

“Our goal with the new 25-year rolling eligibility requirement is to continue opening our gates to the massive community of collector cars from the late 1980s and 1990s,” Goodguys chief operating officer Andrew Ebel is quoted in the announcement.“We believe this is just one of the next steps in the evolution of our events that will help highlight new trends and attract a new generation of builders and enthusiasts to our shows.”

The association also noted that it will continue to feature “all years of American made or powered vehicles” at its “Get-Together” events and at its All American Sundays at all of its shows.
