Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a custom-built 1966 Batmobile replica riding on underpinnings from a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette.
“The Batman superhero was born as a creation of DC Comics in the late 1930s, and in the mid-1960s became the leading subject of a TV series,” AutoHunter notes in the vehicle’s listing. “Along with the leading character in the show debuted a George Barris-built custom two-seat car dubbed the Batmobile.”
This Batmobile, built in 2019 by restoration garage Batrod LLC in Riverhead, New York, features a custom nose, fender flares, tailfins and rounded glass panels surrounding the cockpit. It’s finished in glossy black paint and is equipped with a power-operated hood and trunk and a jet booster-inspired rear end with dual parachutes.

The interior retains Corvette-derived equipment, including black vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels and dashboard. Batman-inspired updates include a Batman logo on the steering wheel, an inoperable accessory phone and a series of dash-mounted lights and buttons.
Power comes from an L98 350cid V8 dressed in Batmobile-themed accents and linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The odometer reads 69,000 miles, although true chassis mileage is unknown.
This Batmobile’s auction ends October 29 at 11:20 a.m. PDT.
