Design Engineering Inc. rolls out new firewall heat protection kit

-

So you’re restoring a vintage Volkswagen Beetle but you’d like it to be a little quieter and even cooler inside. Design Engineering Inc., of Avon Lake, Ohio, says, “Don’t let heat Bug you. Keep your VW Beetle nice and cool with a customized Firewall Heat Protection Kit.”

The firewall kit is new from the company known as DEI, which says the $134.95 product comes “custom cut for a direct fit, the three-piece kit is made from DEI’s Black Floor and Tunnel material and replaces the Beetle’s heavy, fragile factory tar boards. The kit installs easily for superior heat and sound protection.

“The precision CNC-cut pieces feature high-temperature black polymer and a resin powder-coated textured aluminum skin with glass fiber matting for complete protection. They fit easily in place of the factory tar boards with a self-adhesive backing.”

DEI notes that it also has a $189.95 VW Beetle Floor Insulation Kit for 1950 through 1972 Beetles designed to reduce road noise “for a quiet ride usually found only in big cars.”
