Ever wonder how Monterey Car Week got started?

Torque Media presents a short video about how it began back in 1950

-

With automotive historian Rob Manson and Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance chair Sandra Button providing commentary, Torque Media, which produced the livestream coverage of the 2021 concours, has produced a brief minute-and-a-half video showing the roots of what is now Monterey Car Week.

It was back in 1950 that sports cars raced through the new development in the Del Monte Forest on the Monterey Peninsula on Saturday, and on Sunday they returned and were joined by others for a car show.
