Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a 2007 Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition Ford Mustang that’s the 51st of 500 produced to celebrate Jones winning the 1970 Trans-American Championship with a Mustang Boss 302.
Paying homage to Jones’ car race, the Mustang is finished in orange with black accents and No. 15 graphics on the hood and doors.
The front end is equipped with a chrome-ringed black grille with round auxiliary lights, hood pins and a “Shaler” scoop over the engine.
Black louvers cover the backight and match the rear wing. Like the grille, the rear trim panel is surrounded by a strip of chrome.
The interior houses black leather seats with orange inserts, Parnelli Jones-specific accents on the door sills, a 3-spoke steering wheel, metallic shift knob and, between the center climate control vents on the trim panel, both Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones’ signatures.
Interior amenities include a remote keyless entry, 6-way power for the driver’s seat, power windows and locks and a Shaker 500 stereo system.
Power comes from a 400-horsepower 302cid V8 upgraded with a Saleen Powerflash performance calibration, ported aluminum heads, performance camshafts, forged aluminum pistons and forged steel connecting rods and crankshaft. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a rear differential with 3.73:1 gearing.
The odometer shows fewer than 3,000 miles.
This Saleen Mustang’s auction ends August 23 at 12:20 p.m. PDT.
