Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1983 Porsche 911SC Cabriolet that’s one of 4,214 made for the year and, making it even rarer, just one of only 450 made in this red and black color scheme.
“First launched in 1978, the 911SC drew its name from ‘Super Carrera’ and was touted as being a more refined version of the 911,” the car’s auction listing on AutoHunter states.
This final year example is finished in Lipstick black and features a black soft top and a race-certified roll bar installed behind the seats.
Inside, the interior is trimmed in Red Special leather with matching door panels and carpet. It houses an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning, power windows and cruise control.
Power comes from an air-cooled, rear-mounted 3.0-liter M930 flat-six engine connected to a G915 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes the engine is reported to produce 172 horsepower at 5,900 RPM.
The odometer shows 68,715 miles.
This Porsche 911SC’s auction ends July 2 at 11:20 a.m. PDT.
