6.2 LT1-powered resto-mod retains its original wood and body panels

-

Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this 1948 Ford Super Deluxe Woody resto-mod powered by a 2019 GM Gen V LT1 6.2-liter crate engine.

For a walk-around tour of this Woody, see the video below:

The body wears its original wood and body panels, and it was repainted in navy blue about ten years ago. It features a blue cloth roof, correct chrome and trim pieces, and a set of “blue-dot” taillights on the rear.

Inside, the interior is fitted with 6-way power-adjustable caramel leather bucket seats, navy blue carpet and a custom center console with controls for the power seats, and pull-out cup holders.

The original radio has stayed intact, but the seller notes a hidden modern stereo setup with Bluetooth connectivity.

Other interior upgrades include power windows, power steering, automatic interior lighting, USB ports and air conditioning.

The LTI V8 engine is mated to a GM 44L75-E 4-speed automatic transmission. You’ll find an original style Ford air cleaner on top of the engine and custom “Ford” script on the valve covers.

Included with the sale is the surfboard featured in the picture below and a binder full of receipts and restoration documents.

This Woody’s auction ends June 30 at 11:40 a.m. PDT.
