This Pace Car’s body sports Corvette’s 25th-anniversary style changes, including the fastback-shaped rear window and removable glass roof panels. It’s finished in two-tone black and silver with red pinstripes that commemorate the Corvette used in the 1978 Indianapolis 500.

The mostly original interior is suited with two-tone leather bucket seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and matching door panels. The seller replaced the original stereo with a new AM/FM/CD head unit.

The ad notes the original engine was factory rated at 185 horsepower when new and was recently served with an oil change and installation of a new battery.

Odometer shows 32,661 miles, which the seller notes are original.

This Corvette Pace Car’s auction ends May 7 at 12:40 p.m. PDT.

  1. It is BEAUTIFUL and it is a Corvette. But—All 1978 were Pace Cars. (some had decal ALL had badging. Most underpowered engine imaginable- worse on California car. 0-60 in 14 seconds.
So many produced- 50,000? Makes this year very very common.
For all above- not very desirable or it is desirable by someone w/ limited funds. Or some wacko that wants to relive his High School days in a vintage Vette. But- Parts are readily available and dirt cheap.

  2. If you need to buy this model- Get the 1981. All amenaties, rear window pops open. Beautiful ground effects. Silver leather!!
That is a desirable car. And last year C3
