New Mecum auction announced for Chattanooga during Motorcar Festival

About 600 collector vehicles are expected for the 2-day October sale

-

Mecum adds another collector car auction to its busy schedule with a new sale in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on October 15-16, which will run concurrent with the second Chattanooga Motorcar Festival.

About 600 collector vehicles are expected for the auction, to be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center during the expansive citywide Motorcar Festival, first held in 2019 but postponed for 2020 because of the pandemic.

“The beautiful city of Chattanooga is located within a day’s drive of more than half the population of the United States, and its attractive and historic downtown is an idyllic setting for any large-scale event, making it an excellent choice for a Mecum auction,” Mecum says in its announcement of the new event.

The Chattanooga Motorcar Festival is a three-day event, set for October 15-17, that includes wheel-to-wheel racing and a road rally, culminating in a grand concours d’elegance.

The auction will be held live with whatever pandemic restrictions are in place in October, with live streaming and enhanced online bidding.

“With Chattanooga’s prime, central location near the heart of the US, coupled with the excitement already stirred by the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival, this new event is certain to be a welcome addition to the Mecum auction calendar, one appreciated by both our current customers as well as by the attendees of the festival,” Mecum chief operating officer Sam Murtaugh said in the announcement.
