Journal collector car market analyst Andy Reid shares his thoughts on the 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL that is up for auction on AutoHunter, the premier online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com.
This 350SL, finished in light blue over a tan vinyl interior, is powered by a 4.5-liter M117 V8 that was professionally rebuilt at 100,000 miles. Power is sent to the rear through a 3-speed automatic transmission and console-mounted shifter.
Both the navy-blue cloth top and color-matched hardtop come with the sale.
Odometer reads 145,000 miles, which the seller notes are original.
The auction ends March 15 at 12:00 p.m. MST.

The rebuild may have been a waste of time. Mercedes are good for way more miles than that, unless abused.
