A recently restored 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV by Bertone led the bidding with a €2,423,750 ($2,918,800) sale during RM Sotheby’s livestreamed Paris auction held February 13.
The live/online auction, which offered 40 high-end sports, touring and racing cars along with a collection of mostly Ferrari automobilia, resulted in total sales of €9,407,600 ($11,329,102) with bidders from 32 nations taking part online, by phone and absentee, the auction company said in a news release. All results include auction fees.
Other top sellers were a 1993 Isdera Commendatore 112i, the only one of the Mercedes-Benz V12-powered gullwing cars ever built, that sold for €1,113,125 ($1,340,480), and a 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopio originally owned by rock star Rod Stewart, which brought €775,625 ($934,046).
Highlighting the automobilia auction was the sale of a Ferrari 330 P2 Junior by De La Chapelle, a miniature recreation of the famed race car, which achieved 12 times its pre-sale estimate, RM Sotheby’s said, reaching a record-breaking €120,000 ($144,510).
