Live on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this restored 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T convertible. One of just 519 made, this muscle car was a 2017 America Graffiti Award-winner.
The exterior is finished in Racing Green Metallic (GG1 and 661) with red R/T tail stripes and a black convertible top sourced from Legendary Auto.
The seller acquired the Coronet in 2015 and spent the past four years restoring the car. The restoration included rebuilding the original 440 Magnum V8 and 727 Torqueflite transmission to factory specifications.
Additional work included installing an Accurate Exhaust brand OE-style exhaust and mufflers, replacement date-coded glass, custom aluminum fore-core radiator, and aftermarket disc brakes with slotted rotors.
The interior is fitted with black vinyl front bucket seats and a rear bench. Included in the sale is the original “Buddy Seat.”
Powering the Coronet is the Chrysler RB-series 440cid Magnum V8 mated to a 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission, both of which are matching-numbers. The original Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetor and manifolds have been refreshed, and the original 8 ¾ 3.23:1 “Sure-Grip” rear differential also has been rebuilt.
The odometer shows 42,000 miles. Only 270 of those miles have been added by the seller since 2015.
The auction ends February 16 at 1:15 p.m. MST.
