AutoHunter Spotlight: 1977 Pontiac Trans Am 4-speed

Bright red sports car with rebuilt engine up for auction

-

When scrolling through the docket over on the online auction platform AutoHunter, driven by ClassicCars.com, 1977 Pontiac Trans Am 4-speed caught my eye.

The Trans Am is finished in Buccaneer Red with “Screaming Chicken” graphics on the shaker hood and Trans Am decals on the front fenders, front bumper and rear deck lid. The body also is equipped with front and rear spoilers, vented front fenders and fog lights.

The interior features Morrokide bucket seats upholstered in tan vinyl with matching door panels and carpet. You’ll also find factory-equipped options like air conditioning, a center console, tilt steering column and electric clock in the cab.

Under the car’s hood is the 455cid V8 engine that was previously rebuilt and sourced from a 1973 Trans Am. Power is relayed to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission and a Posi-traction rear axle.

The seller notes the transmission and rear end were recently rebuilt.

The odometer shows 43,410 miles, although true mileage is unknown.

The auction ends February 16 at 11:00 a.m. MST.
