Roman Holiday | 1937 Fiat Topolino

Audrey Hepburn, who plays a European princess, and Gregory Peck, playing an American reporter, spend the day gallivanting around Rome in this 1953 rom-com.

After a love-filled day, Peck drives Hepburn back home in a 1937 Fiat Topolino so she can return to her royal duties.

Before they share their last kiss, Hepburn says, “I don’t know how to say goodbye. I can’t think of any words.”

50 First Dates | 1973 Volkswagen Thing

When Henry, played by comedian Adam Sandler, meets art teacher Lucy, played by Drew Barrymore, he is smitten. After discovering Lucy has anterograde amnesia and relives the same day over and over, Henry concocts a few plans to get Lucy’s attention as she drives by in her bright yellow VW Thing.

When Harry Met Sally | 1976 Toyota Corona Wagon

Harry met Sally and her ’76 Toyota Corona Wagon after graduating college when they share a ride from Chicago to New York. During the road trip they so romantically argue if men and women could ever be platonic friends.

Fast forward 10 years and Harry and Sally put their argument to the test in this romantic comedy featuring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal.

10 Things I Hate About You | 1983 Volvo GL

In this ‘90s rom-com based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, popular sophomore Bianca, wants to start dating but her dad’s rule is that she can’t start dating until her older sister starts.

So, Bianco comes up with a plan – to set her sister up with the high school bad boy played by Heath Ledger.

While Ledger is tying to win over Bianca’s sister, played by Julia Stiles, Bianca has her own fling with the nerdy boy head-over-heals for her.

  1. Johnny Dark set the stage for 2-seat (personal) fiberglass sports-cars before the Corvette came out.
    Tony Curtis and Piper did a great job of illustrating the passion, excitement, and fun of driving, not just having giant amounts of relatively un-useful, expensive, horsepower.

  2. How about “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” Ferrari California Spyder GT 250? That’s the main star of the movie.
    There is also a “flash appearance” of a Mercedes Benz 190 SL Silver in “The French Kiss”(the only good thing about the movie)
