Who knew bright yellow and purple could look this good together

Each week, our editors pick their favorite cars up for auction on AutoHunter, the online collector car auction site driven by ClassicCars.com, and it’s my turn this week.

If one of my picks catches your eye, make sure to visit its listing on AutoHunter to register to bid or add it to your watchlist.

This unmodified, single-family-owned Datsun is powered by a 3.0-liter VG30E V6 engine, original to the car, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that has just over 61,000 miles on it.

The interior features tan leather bucket seats, the original AM/FM/cassette stereo with graphic equalizer and the signature digital gauge cluster.

Equipment includes removable glass T-tops, air conditioning, cruise control and dual powered side-view mirrors with console-mounted controls.

This fully restored 1969 Chevy Camaro equipped with the Rallye Sport package is powered by matching-numbers 350cid V8 paired with a 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission.

The body is covered in the car’s original combination of Garnet Red with bright red hockey stick-style strips along the body. Rallye Sport package-specific hideaway headlights are featured.

1959 Ford 500 Galaxie Skyliner

1959 Ford 500 Galaxie Skyliner on AutoHunter

After undergoing a body-off concourse-level restoration by Ford collector Jerry Capizzi in the 1990s, this 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner won a first prize and grand national honors at Antique Automobile Club of America shows in 1999 and 2000.

Finished in Geranium over Colonial white, the car is powered by a 352cid high-output Thunderbird Special V8 that puts out 300 horsepower and is paired with a column-shifted 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission.

The seller provided a video showing the convertible hardtop retracting under the decklid you can check out below:

1927 Ford Model T Track Roadster

1927 FORD MODEL T TRACK ROADSTER
 on AutoHunter

Scrolling through the docket, this bright yellow roadster caught my eye. It was professionally built by Richardson’s Customs in 1999 using a Wescott fiberglass body on a Jim Meyers frame.

Contrasting the Lemon Ice yellow paint are custom lavender and purple pinstriping along the body. The interior is fitted with grey carpeting, purple tweed door panels, purple vinyl accents and a Mr. Peanut graphic on the dash, seriously.

Under the hoods sits a 3.8-liter V8 with a chrome air cleaner and valve covers with yellow accent striping. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Turbo 350 automatic transmission.

1986 BMW 528e 5-Speed

1986 BMW 528e 5-Speed on AutoHunter

Check out this one-owner BMW 528e finished in blue over a blue interior. It’s powered by a Bosch Motronic fuel-injected 2.7-liter inline-6 engine paired with a Getrag 260 5-speed manual transmission.

The all-blue interior is factory equipped with power windows and locks, a metal sliding sunroof, air conditioning and a woodgrain shift knob.

The odometer shows 288,000 miles, but the CARFAX report indicates a potential odometer rollback in 2012, so true mileage is unknown.
