The rest of the story about that ’36 Chevy

Restoration was done on $500 a month budget

-

Back on November 20, the Pick of the Day on ClassicCars.com was a 1936 Chevrolet coupe that shared very little information in its advertisement but several intriguing photographs showing the car with a happy couple (presumably its owners).

“This 1936 Chevy must have a story,” our headline suggested, “but what is it?”

Well, as Paul Harvey would have put it, here’s the rest of the story:

The couple in the photos is, indeed, the car’s owners, and they have been married for 47 years. The car was purchased in the 1980s after it had been in a rollover accident. The couple agreed to a budget of $500 a month toward the car’s restoration.

Yes, it took some time, but the car was ready to drive by their 40th anniversary, an event shared in the photos included with the car’s advertisement.

The car, which is in Savage, Minnesota, has been driven only 5,000 miles since the restoration was completed and remains for sale on ClassicCars.com for $39,900.
