New Tremec TKX 5-speed gearbox ready for installation

Unit is designed for muscle and custom cars, says American Powertrain

-

American Powertrain has announced the availability of the newest Tremec manual transmission, the TKX, a 5-speed unit designed for classic muscle cars and custom car builds.

American Powertrain says the new TKX has a compact and streamlined case, triple-cone synchronizer like that of the Magnum T-56 and can handle 7,500 rpm and 600 pound-feet of torque.

The gearbox also features a single overdrive for reduced engine wear and improved fuel consumption at highway speeds.

In addition to the TKX, American Powertrain unveiled its latest White Lightning shifter upgrades, which can be used in more than 60 new locations to help in TKX installations in a variety of vehicles.

The TKX retails for $2,795. For details and specific fitment information, visit the American Powertrain website.
