Noting that “watches and cars have always been in symbiosis, after all the purist display of speed is to be measured against the clock,” the organizers of the annual Luftgekühlt showcase of Porsches have announced a limited-edition Chopard Mille Miglia GTS watch.
Only 50 such timepieces will be produced, and are priced at $7,450 each.
According to Chopard, the self-winding Caliber 01.08-C timepiece beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph in a stainless-steel case on a blue-colored perforated calfskin-leather strap with silver stitching and black rubber lining “inspired by 1960s Dunlop racing tires.’’
The watch has a brushed silver-colored dial with a power-reserve indicator at the 9 o’clock position (the watch has a 60-hour power reserve). Chopard says the timepiece is water resistant to 100 meters and has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
The watch movement can be viewed through the back of the watch, which includes the Luftgekühlt logo.
