Video of the Day: In-period road test of 1968 XKE

Bud Lindemann and his team put the Jaguar coupe through its paces

-

Last week, we stumbled across some of the old Car and Track video road tests done back in the day at Grattan Raceway in western Michigan by Bud Lindemann and his team.

Although the video quality isn’t the high-def we’re used to these days, it shows how cars were tested when they were brand new in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The Video today is a Lindemann team road test of a 1968 Jaguar XKE coupe.

  1. Love these cars, love the styling. But it’s a bit hilarious to hear them lauded as the peak of sport performance with all the tire screeching and fishtailing around, and…..”minimal body roll”?! Yikes!!

  2. Bill is right, its pre ’68 if delivered in the USA. Rest of the world kept the triple carbs long after the US and dash switches until the ’69 model.
