Leno among celebrities taking part in Mercedes’ ‘Concours de Zoom’

Webcast of cars and stars begins at 5 p.m. (Eastern) on May 1

Jay Leno is among the celebrities to be featured in the first Mercedes-Benz Concours de Zoom, a video-conferencing event that will “feature iconic Mercedes-Benz vehicles alongside their high-profile owners during this time of social distancing,” the auto maker announced April 30.

The event, which in addition to Leno will be headlined by Martha Stewart, Rickie Fowler, Madelaine Petsch and Ludacris, will be offered live on Zoom at 5 p.m. (Eastern time) on May 1.

“Each prominent participant will showcase their prized Mercedes-Benz and share a few things they love about their vehicle. At the end, a donation will be made to the American Red Cross on behalf of the participants,” the automaker added in its news release.

Vehicles to be featured included a 1908 chain-drive Mercedes with a Benz aero engine, a 1956 300SL “Gullwing,” a 1988 560 SL, a 1991 G 300 D, and several AMG vehicles.

To view the event, Mercedes added, go to a special Zoom webinar site once the event begins. However, “be sure to have Zoom downloaded prior to the event beginning.”
