Lightweight k-member for Fox-body Mustangs

The renewed popularity of Fox Body Mustangs opens the doors for an increase in aftermarket parts

-

BMR Suspension has added a new k-member to the line of suspension parts for Fox-body Mustangs. The k-member, designed specifically for 1979-2004 Mustangs modified with aftermarket coilovers, reduces front-end weight while adding strength and aiding in the elimination of challenging bumpsteer.

According to BMR, “Factory k-members are manufactured from stamped steel and are heavy and bulky. Constructed from DOM steel tubing and 3/16″ laser-cut mounting plates, our Fox Body K-Member provides strength and durability while also shedding unnecessary weight.”

The BMR K-Member (KM731/KM741) has an estimated weight savings of 30 pounds compared to the stock k-member. This K-Member utilizes the suspension geometry of the SN95 Mustang and features a lower steering rack mounting position which aids in eliminating bump steer in lowered cars. BMR has designed the KM731/KM741 specifically for 1979-2004 Mustangs equipped with aftermarket coilovers and will save weight while also withstanding the abuse of drag race applications.

BMR says installation time is 3-4 hours. The k-members are available in two colors: black hammertone or red powdercoat. Retail price for the KM731/KM741 parts is $349.95.
