Villa d’Este concours switching to mid-October dates

Our updated list of automotive events impacted by the global pandemic

-

The coronavirus pandemic is having a major impact on automotive events, many of which are being canceled or postponed. Here are the latest announcements:

  • Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the heralded Italian concours on the shores of Lake Como, has been postponed from May 22-24 to October 16-18. The new dates, however, are subject to the ongoing pandemic, organizers noted.

“We will continue to monitor the development of the spread of the coronavirus and expect a final confirmation this June,” they reported.

“Our early cancellation for May will hopefully make planning easier for our many overseas guests, knowing they have longer lead times for logistics, travel arrangements, etc.”

  • The Trans Am Speedfest, postponed from May 1-3, has been rescheduled for December 3-6 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
  • The Le Mans Classic vintage races have been canceled for 2020. The 2021 date has been set for July 1-4.
  • The National Association of Automobile Museums and World Forum for Motor Museums will delay its 2020 conference, scheduled for November, until April 28-May 1, 2021.
  • The British Motor Museum at Gaydon has reworked its car show schedule. The Land Rover show has moved to August 1-2, the Slot Car Festival is canceled, the Jaguar Breakfast Meet is postponed until sometime in July, the Banbury Run is rescheduled for August 16, and the Classic & Vintage Commercial Vehicle Show has been postponed until August 8-9.
