Greenbrier rescheduled, multiple Monaco events canceled

Our updated list of automotive events impacted by the global pandemic

-

The coronavirus pandemic is having a major impact on automotive events, many of which are being canceled or postponed. Here are the latest announcements:

  • The Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance, scheduled for May 1-3 at the historic resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, has been rescheduled for September 4-6.

“We felt it was important not to cancel, but instead to reschedule for a later date,” said Cam Huffman, a member of the concours steering committee, “and we’re excited about welcoming car enthusiasts from across the country to America’s Resort on Labor Day Weekend.”

  • Events in Monaco, including the 78th Grand Prix de Monaco F1 race, the 12th Monaco vintage races and the RM Sotheby’s Monaco auction have been canceled. The FIA also canceled the Grand Prix races scheduled for Netherlands and Spain. The FIA also will reschedule the Formula E racing series and will delay until 2022 the new technical regulations scheduled to start with the 2021 season.
  • RM auctions canceled its annual Auburn Spring sale.
  • Mecum Auctions will postpone its March and April auctions, including the Gone Farmin’ Spring Classic tractor sale in Iowa and the Houston Collector Car Auction in Texas.
  • Bonhams has rescheduled its Spring Stafford motorcycle auction, originally set for April 25-26, to June 12-13, when it will be held in conjunction with the also rescheduled 40th International Classic MotorCycle Show.
  • The Gilmore Car Museum is closed until further notice, but will continue its lecture series on Facebook Live and on the museum’s YouTube channel.
