’65 Porsche 356 cabriolet tops McCormick’s spring sale

Palm Springs auction sets attendance record

A 1965 Porsche 356 cabriolet sold for $198,750 to top McCormick’s annual February auction in Palm Springs, California. Overall, the auction sent 287 of 501 collector cars home with new owners for a total of $4,616,000.

Among other noteworthy sales, McCormick’s said, was a 1937 Packard 115C roadster that sold for $54,060 and a 1949 REO Speedwagon that went for $36,835.

McCormick’s also announced that attendance at the sale set a record.

McCormick’s next auction is scheduled for November 20-22, also at Palm Springs.
