The original pony car moves up on both lists in January

-

It may be a new year, but people searching for collector cars on ClassicCars.com have not changed their minds. Among cars sought by year, make and model, the 1969 Dodge Charger remained their favorite in January.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro passed the 1967 Ford Mustang to move into second place on the search list.

1968 Ford Mustangs moved up on the top-10 search list for January

But while the ’67 Mustang slipped to third, the ’69 Mustang retained fourth place and the ’68 and ’65 moved up the top-1o listing into 6th and 7th place, respectively.

“Between all the excitement about the sale of the famous Bullitt-movie Mustang, and the interest in the new GT500 and the talk about the Mustang Mach E, it’s no surprise that people are checking out classic Mustangs,” said Roger Falcione, founder and chief executive of ClassicCars.com.

“Mustangs from the 1960s continue to be the affordable heart of the collector car hobby.”

People searching for cars on the ClassicCars.com Marketplace also have the option of more generic searches, seeking vehicles simply by manufacturer or model. Among such searches in January, Chevrolet was No. 1 and Ford was No. 2, but here again, the Mustang was on the gallop, taking third place from the Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck.
