Next-generation Pro-Fit 5- and 6-speed Tremec transmissions for 1978-88 GM G-body vehicles have been released by American Powertrain, the company based in Cookeville, Tennessee, has announced. G-body vehicles include the Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and Buick Regal.
“Designed around the famous Tremec TKO 5-speed and the dual overdrive Magnum 6-speed transmissions, the Pro-Fit kits features a custom adjustable cross member, custom high strength driveshaft, trans mount, offset shifter and speedo solution,” American Powertrain said.
“G-body hydraulic clutch kit is also available to complete the conversion to three pedals.”
Pro-Fit kits are covered by a 2-year warranty and extended-hours tech support, the company said.
