Long-time Lamborghini vehicle development head Valentino Balboni launched his own VB brand in 2016 with a titanium exhaust system for the Aventador LP-750 SV, and soon added a system for the Aventador S as well.
On May 28, VP announced “a staggering new exhaust for the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ coupe and roadster.
“This new VB exhaust is the best system that can possibly be manufactured for the extraordinary SVJ,” Balboni said in the VB news release. “It is symbiotic with the SVJ’s character. Our goal was to create an incredibly light exhaust to further enhance performance of this fantastic machine.
“As usual with VB, we also focused on setting free the melodies of the V12 engine, with no sound artifacts. It’s all about the purity of sound.”
The exhaust system weighs just 8.8 pounds and is made entirely of titanium, VB said in its announcement. The system reduces overall vehicle weight by a full 1 percent compared with the factory setup.
“Last but not least,” the company added, “its shapes embody the horns of the Raging Bull as further testimony of VB’s dedication to Lamborghini history.
Only 63 units will be produced, and 15 of them will bear Valentino’s signature, the company added.
