Mecum hits $20 million at Houston auction

Mecum Auctions reports that it posted $20 million in sales with a 75 percent sell-through at its recent visit to Houston, where 767 vehicles went to new owners.

The auction featured 52 cars from the collection of Mario Sueiras and 49 cars from Pappi’s Garage. Between them, those collections generated more than $3.29 million in sales, Mecum said.

Topping all sales at the auction was a 2014 Ferrari F12 that sold for $203,500 (prices include buyer’s fee).

Second place went to a 1968 Icon Ford Bronco at $192,500.

Mecum’s next auction is the Dana Mecum’s 32nd Original Spring Classic, scheduled for May 14-19 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, where more than 2,000 vehicles are on the docket.
