Cars formerly owned by actress Ava Gardner and by rocker Phil Collins are on the docket for the Coys InterClassics Maastricht auction scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Netherlands.
Gardner was the first owner of a 1958 Facel Vega Excellence that was one of the first 10 cars in that series, Coys said, adding that her ownership is confirmed by chassis records. The car is equipped with a 6.4-liter Chrysler Hemi V8 and is expected to sell for €150,000 to €180,000 ($170,000 to $205,000).
Also on the docket, though with a pre-auction estimated value of only €7,000 to €10,000 ($8,000 to $11,500) is a 1959 Austin A35 owned by Collins when he was a member of the band Genesis. The car comes with registration documents confirming Collins’ ownership, Coys noted.
Also part of the sale are an “early” Maserati 3500 GT, a 1930 Packard Deluxe Eight roadster 745 and a 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400.
The auction is held in conjunction with the InterClassics Maastricht ’19 classic car show that features 35,000 vehicles and 300 exhibitors.
