Infants can ride in style in new Mercedes baby buggy

Your child or grandchild soon can ride in Mercedes-style comfort and style as the Mercedes-Benz baby carriage Avantgarde comes to market.

“A sense of style and driving experience is instilled in the young generation from the very first outing with the all-new Mercedes-Benz baby carriage Avantgarde from Hartan,” Daimler said in its news release about the carriages, which are produced by German baby buggy specialist Hartan.

“This is where ergonomic functionality, tested safety and innovative materials meet a modern, sporty look developed in close cooperation with the Mercedes-Benz Design department. The AMG design-inspired 5-twin-spoke wheels as well as adjustable suspension and the air-chamber tires are true highlights.”

The news release notes that Hartan is a family-owned company that has been producing infant prams since the 1950s in Germany’s Franconia region.

The well-outfitted family

“As is the case on the road, safety comes first on pavements and in parks: just like all the products from Hartan, the Mercedes-Benz baby carriage Avantgarde meets the highest requirements in terms of material selection and production quality and bears the German Association for Technical Inspection (TÜV) seal of approval,” the news release reassures parents.

The buggies weight less than 20 pounds, feature Solight Ecco air-chamber tires, and are made from low-density materials that contain “no plasticizers or PAHs.”

The prams also have a parking brake, telescoping handlebar and a storage compartment.

The child seat adjusts to various positions, including swiveling to face forward or toward the pushing parent, and is designed so “the child sits comfortably in each stage of growth.”

For the very young, an infant carrier can be mounted in place of the standard seat.

The new buggy and all of its accessories

“The Mercedes-Benz baby carriage Avantgarde is available in different colour variations,” the news release notes. “The ‘DESSIN Sport’ design is a combination of black/anthracite/ grey/silver with red seams on the upholstery of the handle and safety bar as well as a red piping on the hood to ensure a dynamic look. The ‘DESSIN Sport’ is fitted on an iridium silver carrier. The ‘Dolce Vita’ variant in beige/sand/brown with a timeless carrier in ‘Arenisca’ looks timelessly elegant. The ‘DESSIN Deep Sea’ design in anthracite grey/dove blue with the carrier in ‘Seaskin’ colour shows a stylish fashionably direction.”

Also available are accessories including a sunshade, changing bag, foot muff and wind shield, as well as an organizer for the parent’s wallet, keys and phone, all with the Mercedes-Benz and Hartan logos.

Pricing was not included in the news release, but the buggies will be available in November from through the Hartan website.
