This is the 23rd in a 30-day countdown to Barrett-Jackson’s annual Las Vegas collector car auction
Bought new in Arizona in 1966, Lot No. 766 is a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette that is one of just 20 Stingrays that has a 472cid engine and a Powerglide automatic transmission.
The car is loaded with options. In 1966, Chevy offered 18 factory options. This one has 16 of them, including side pipes, a wood telescopic steering wheel, Positraction rear end, factory air and power steering, brakes and windows. The 427 V8 was also an option.
Outside, the car was finished in Nassau Blue. Inside, the car has white and blue vinyl buckets seats.
The original owner kept it for 45 years before selling it in 2001. It has always been stored in a climate-controlled environment.
Barrett-Jackson’s annual Las Vegas auction is scheduled for September 27-29 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
