Petty’s Garage-designed F-150 on Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas block

A special edition Ford F-150 modified by Richard Petty’s Garage will be up for bidding at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction. The truck is scheduled to be on the block September 27.

The truck was customized by Petty’s Garage with help from Military AutoSource. Funds from the sale of the Warrior Edition F-150 will be donated to Paralyzed Veterans of America.

“PVA is really the leader for our paralyzed veterans,” Richard Petty said in a news release. “Each year we try to do more and more to help their efforts. We’ve been to Barrett-Jackson in the past before, but this time we’re going to bring one of our custom F-150 Warrior Edition trucks.”

The one-of-a-kind truck was given custom paint, interior, electric running boards and more. It features a Petty’s Garage Warrior grille, hood, windshield banner, dash badge. Petty signed the dash.

“These trucks are really limited and unique in how we build them,” he said. “Somebody is going to have a lot of fun owning it and we hope we can raise a lot of money for the PVA.”

Befitting of its race car designer, the F-150 has a supercharger under the hood and the engine is capable of making 750 horsepower.

“We remain committed to providing access, value, and benefits to those who serve, and the Warrior program is an extension of this mission,” Stephen Frisch, the senior vice president of the Overseas Military Sales Group, Military AutoSource’s parent company, said.

“Of course, our commitment to the military community extends beyond our vehicle buying program and this auction demonstrates that commitment.”

  1. Please don’t get me wrong; I love the F-150, and I’m a huge fan of Richard Petty! The F-150 is a great truck and I’ve owned two of them now. But I have seen enough so-called "special edition" F-150’s to last a lifetime. Maybe it’s because I’m old school and I believe it should still be a work vehicle, not a fashion statement.
