A 1935 MG PA Airline coupe, 1973 Trojan T101 racer and a 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina highlight the docket for Coys’ Thoroughbred & Vintage auction scheduled for September 6 at Fontwell Park during the Goodwood Revival meeting in England.
The ’35 MG PA is one of what is believed to be only 51 such vehicles with a Carbodies coupe bodywork designed and marketed by H.W. Allingham. The car on offer is believed to be the last of the PA models equipped with such aerodynamic coachwork.
The ’73 Trojan T101 is one of five such vehicles produced for Formula 5000 racing and was campaigned by Ian Ward Racing and driven by Keith Holland. It also competed in an F5000 revival series in 1983 and in the Southampton Ocean Village Sprint in 1987 but then went into storage for nearly 30 years.
Since coming out of storage, it has competed in vintage racing events, including victory in the HSCC Derek Bell Trophy race.
The ’77 Ferrari 308 is a two-owner car with right-hand drive and Coys reports “has been meticulously looked after over the years.”
Also on the docket is a 1970 Citroen Mehari, a 1947 Allard K1, a 1964 Ford Lotus Corina Mark I, a 1967 Lancia Fulvia Zagato and a re-creation of a 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 road/race car.
