Barrett-Jackson countdown: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28

-

Lot No. 679.1 is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z/28 that is one of just 26 to receive the Legend Award from the American Camaro Association, the highest level of Camaro judging in the Camaro Nationals.

The car was originally ordered with soft-ray tinted glass, a black vinyl roof cover, center console, posi-traction axle 4.10 ratio, power disc brakes, a 4-speed close-ratio transmission, special instrumentation, an AM push-button radio, a ducted hood, rally sport equipment, a Z/21-style trim, auxiliary panel and valance and a Z/28 special engine and equipment package.

The car contains many original and NOS parts. A list of all correct parts number is included.

It has the original black interior that looks to be in great shape. The factory-correct engine compartment was highly detailed and included the matching-numbers DZ302 V8 engine that was completely rebuilt.

The car comes with a slew of original information, including the car shipper sheet, the Manufacturers Certificate of Origin, owner’s title and certificate of registration, the bill of sale from the first and second owners, the warranty folder and transfer form, owner’s manual and multiple registrations.

The Camaro has received a long list of recognitions, including a Concours Gold Certificate from Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. It was a six-time Super Chevy Auto Star Class Winner and Outstanding Detail, a four-time Chevy VetteFest Gold Spinner, Participants Choice, Top Gun and Best Original, among others.

Barrett-Jackson’s annual Northeast auction is scheduled for June 20-23 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

  1. The 1969 Camaro I owned was no prize winner like this one but to me it was a prize to own. Complete and original it was the best car I ever owned. GOOD LUCK
