This is the fourth car in a 10-day countdown to Barrett-Jackson’s annual Northeast auction
One of 50 Shelbys made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the slab-sided 289 Shelby, lot No. 672 is a continuation made exactly like the original cars, and it is a true Shelby Cobra.
All 50 were given a black exterior with red leather interior, chrome wire wheels and special 50th Anniversary badging, along with special Shelby VINs ranging from CSX8950 to CSX8999.
This car, VIN CSX8969, is titled as a 1962 Cobra.
The period-correct car has a 1967 289cid engine that makes 375 horsepower. It was rebuilt to K-code engine specifications and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The car has 500 break-in miles on it and is listed in the Shelby Registry.
Oh, did we mention the car will be sold with a windshield visor designed by Carrol Shelby himself?
Barrett-Jackson’s annual Northeast auction is scheduled for June 20-23 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.2 comments
