Couple displays his and hers ’32 Fords at LA Classic Auto Show

-

In a world that has turned to instant gratification, there are people who still believe that good things come to those who wait.

Meet the Garners.

This past weekend, the LA Classic Auto Show provided a culmination of years of hoping and searching by Gary and Kathy Garner, who were in pursuit of the perfect pair of 1932 Fords.

They shared their story while visiting the Car Club Lounge; the VIP area sponsored in part by ClassicCars.com.

“I was looking for a ’32 Ford, 3-window coupe,” said Gary. “I probably spent six to seven months going online two to three times a week and searching for a car.

“My wife (also) wanted a ’32, but she wanted a highboy Ford cabriolet, and she wanted all Ford on it — motor, tranny, everything.

“So the search started, and after about two and half years of checking, finally one
popped up.”

After several years of searching, the Garners finally completed their pair. They credit ClassicCars.com for leading them to their show cars, and they recommend the site to anyone with an interest in classic cars.

“It’s a very easy, usable website,” said Gary. “And the nice thing is you almost pick any price range you wan. It’s not just high-end show cars, there are a lot of project cars on there, too.”

More than 1000 cars showcased at the LA Classic Auto Show, and Kathy’s highboy was honored to win Best of Show: Hot Rod. Watch the award ceremony!

  1. Surely even the least educated among us know that the possessive pronoun "hers" is spelt
    correctly WITHOUT an apostrophe !
