Exotic sports cars formerly owned by rock stars Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart and Nick Mason are on the docket for Bonhams’ collector car auction scheduled for March 18 at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting in England.

And for those whose celebrity tastes tend more toward automotive history, the auction also will offer up the 1961 Jaguar Mark X that was William Lyons company car until 1965.

But likely to draw much more interest are the Lamborghinis and Ferraris formerly owned by the rock stars.

The 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 on the docket originally was owned by Paul McCartney when he was with The Beatles. McCartney acquired the car early in 1968 when the group was working on its Yellow Submarine project, Bonhams noted in its news release.

The car is one of only 250 produced, of which only four were imported to the UK. The car is powered by a V12 engine and is said to be capable of reaching 167 mph.

The 1991 Lamborghini Diablo being offered was purchased originally by Rod Stewart, who bought the 200 mph sports car as a Christmas present to himself in December 1991, while celebrating the success of his Vagabond Heart album.

Mason has become well-known in the car community for his extensive car collection, made possible by the success of his group, Pink Floyd. He was the original owner of the 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Spider that will cross the block at the auction.

Bonhams notes that the ex-Mason Dino is one of only 21 produced with flared wheel wells.

Meanwhile, there is the ex-Lyons’ Jaguar, which as the company’s co-founder was specially equipped with power rear windows (Lyons rode in back with a chauffeur driving) and vanity mirrors for himself and Lady Lyons.
