Rev it up: 2017 Scottsdale Grand Prix Teams

This is the last in our four-part series introducing the teams and their vintage mini racers taking part in the Scottsdale Grand Prix.  The weekend-long event includes a Roaring ‘20s inspired Gatsby Gala on November 3, held on the banks of the Scottsdale Waterfront.  The weekend culminates with the free-to-attend Grand Prix on Sunday, November 5th.

Team: Hagerty Insurance

The Hagerty Grand Prix team is in its second year and is helmed by Mark Valentino. On race day, the Hagerty-blue model vintage mini racer will be roaring round the track, wearing No. 9.

Hagerty Insurance, based in Traverse City, Michigan, specializes in classic car insurance. The company is a leading insurance agency for collector vehicles in the world and host to the largest network of collector car owners.  The company is led by McKeel Hagerty, son of founders Frank and Louise Hagerty.

Team: International Color Services

The ICS Team challenged for the Grand Prix of Scottsdale title in 2016.  It is back and is led by Tony McCollum. The racer is a polished P40 Warhawk-model vintage mini racer.

Leading the way for over 40 years in the pre-media and pre-press industry, ICS has helped solve client’s imaging needs for decades. With offices in Scottsdale and New York, ICS’s image and photo editing teams create one-of-a-kind images for catalogs, signage, website development, display graphics, multi-media presentations and more.

The IMI Design team

Team: IMI Design

The IMI Design team is led by the company’s founder and owner, Anita Lang.  The team returns to the race with the IMI Vintage Mini Racer wearing No. 69.

The IMI Design Studio team, based in Scottsdale, does pre-construction and remodeling planning as well as comprehensive soft furnishings services. Its designers offer customers an extensive resource of skills and talents combined with a proprietary Smart Luxury™ program that helps  client’s achieve their design goals.

Team: Prisma Graphic

The Prisma Graphic team is a rookie in the race but boasts one of the more colorful vintage mini racers, an Italiano model with a multi-colored Prisma Graphics logo.  The racer is labeled No. 63.

Prisma Graphic claims to be a marketing manager’s best friend with a dedication to automating marketing supply chains. Prisma Graphic’s solutions drive client’s messages to market using a variety of digital print services. Prisma’s printing and packaging solutions are designed to effectively protect and promote client’s brands and products.

Team: Artisan Colour

This is year 3 for the Artisan Colour team, owned by Doug Bondon, Joe Vallone and Johan Passante.  The team’s iridescent purple Italiano model vintage racer is hard to miss. Hand-wrapped with a custom purple wrap, and sporting a large ‘A’ on the hood, racer No. 98 is back for 2017.

Founded in 1988, Artisan Colour is a color house and digital commercial printer located in Scottsdale.  Artisan’s print-on-demand digital platform encompasses offers dynamic workflows. Artisan also delivers creativity, quality and consistency to its clientele with business and brand management services.

Team: AEI Fabrication

This will be the third Grand Prix for the team from AEI Fabrication, which is owned by Ron Kotloff.  The team of drivers will be circling the streets of Scottsdale in a black and gold Italiano vintage mini racer No. 11.

The company’s involvement with the race doesn’t just include driving. The AEI Fabrication team is responsible for the fabrication of more than 160 parts used for the Vintage Kart Company vintage mini racers.

The company specializes in high-speed, precision laser cutting combined with efficient, full-service metal fabrication and machining capabilities to create a cost-effective, turn-key solution for clientele in a wide range of industry categories.  Founded in 1995, AEI has fabricated aluminum, steel and stainless industrial fixtures for over 20 years and count many of the Fortune 2000 among clientele.
