Flavor of the day: That’s what Porsche Passport offers

-

So you want to drive a new Porsche, but can’t quite make up your mind which one? Don’t worry, you don’t have to decide. Simply subscribe to the Porsche Passport, pay a monthly fee of $2,000 and you can order up any of eight Porsche vehicles to drive whenever you want.

At least you can if you live in the Atlanta area, where the program is being tested.

Oh, and if eight isn’t enough, for $3,000 a month you can select from among a full range of 22 models.

“Our Strategy 2025 vision is to be the most aspirational brand in a new era of mobility and consumer expectations. Catering to customers’ desire to experience our sports cars in new ways is a part of our core strategy,” Porsche Cars North American president and chief executive Klaus Zellmer was quoted in a news release. “With Porsche Passport, we now offer our customers a simple and flexible driving solution at their fingertips.”

The $2,000 per month option is called “Launch” and includes such vehicles as the 718 Boxster, Cayman S, Macan S and Cayenne. The $3,000 “Accelerate” option includes the 911 Carrera S, Panamera 4S, Cayenne S E-Hybrid and much more.

Taxes, registration, insurance and maintenance are included in the packages, which require a one-time $500 activation fee for the app that allows customers to select and schedule their vehicle choices. Starting in November, cars will be delivered to the customer’s location in metro Atlanta.
