This SLR McLaren, crossing the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction this month, is finished in high-visibility metallic paint, and has a plush red leather interior. With only 7,491 miles, it reportedly has been cared for in exquisite fashion.
As a supercar, the McLaren demonstrates everyday usability, with dual-zone air conditioning, a 7-speaker Bose premium sound system with navigation and upgraded Bluetooth stereo, power adjustable carbon-fiber seats and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
Other features on this car include heated exterior mirrors, power steering, power windows, power adjusting tilt wheel, rain sensor, ceramic tinted windows and windshield and smart key. It rides on a new set of original equipment tires over asymmetric turbine-design factory alloy wheels.
The power of this car comes from a Mercedes-Benz 5.5-liter supercharged single-overhead-cam V8 engine. The all-aluminum unit has three valves per cylinder and a dry-sump lubrication system. The Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger provides 13 psi of boost; good for 617hp and 575 foot pounds of torque. Boasting two intercoolers, the SLR has a 5-speed AMG Speedshift R automatic transmission, allowing the driver to select comfort mode for touring or switch to sport mode for more responsive automatic shifting.
As an additional feature, separate manual-shift speeds can be selected by using gearshift buttons on the steering wheel.
