Giant Carlisle swap meet, top-tier concours cars and events

-

The thrill of the hunt will be in full force during Carlisle Events’ final hometown show of the season, the famous Fall Carlisle swap meet and car corral, which takes place September 27 to October 1 at the Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Fairgrounds.

Veteran’s advice: wear comfortable walking shoes because this gathering is huge.

‘This event is massive, so big in fact that nearly every inch of the 150 acres that Carlisle Events owns is filled with something automotive-related,” the event organizers say in a new release, adding that, “8,100 vending spaces sell out, and nearly 100,000 guests travel to Carlisle from around the world to eat, breath and live all things automotive.”

The Carlisle swap meet holds all kinds of treasures

Fall Carlisle is held in conjunction with a three-day collector car auction by Carlisle Auctions from September 28-30 at the adjacent Expo Center.

There is also a monumental manufacturers’ midway with some of the top companies in the business, including our own representatives from ClassicCars.com as well as those from the AACA Museum, AMSOIL, CPI Truck, Maguire’s, Woodward Fabrications, Flowmaster, Edelbrock, Hagerty Insurance, More Than Tires and many others.

For those whose spouses possibly might grow weary of digging through piles of old car parts, there are some non-automotive options, including a food court and the questionably named Women’s Oasis (hey, there are plenty of female car hobbyists), which is “is a large tent filled with kitchen must-haves, candles, jewelry, arts, crafts and more.”

A 1909 Lozier participated in the Great Race

Passport sent out an enclosed transporter truck that became known as “The Lozier Express,” which started in Seattle with stops in Michigan, Maine and the New York area to picked up a total of five Loziers and deliver to the Atlanta Concours.

Those five will be among the eight Loziers to be shown in a special class during the concours.
