Prancing Ponies make their Monterey debut

-

The Prancing Ponies Car Show, an inaugural event held during Monterey Car Week in Carmel-by-the-Sea, was created by women for women and featured many female owners presenting their vintage and exotic cars.

The lady-driven car show shut down a portion of 6th Avenue for the afternoon Wednesday and showcased Ferraris and a number of Porsches.

The Prancing Ponies Foundation, the force behind the event, said in a news release prior to the event that the purpose of the show was to provide the opportunity for young women to interact with women car enthusiasts and become inspired to pursue careers in automotive businesses. The foundation also works to send young women abroad to encourage leadership.

The show also honored The Unique Ladies, believed to be the first all-woman lowrider car club in the U.S.
