Monterey Car Week serves as annual homecoming celebration for collector car enthusiasts whether their interests involve the vast variety of classic cars, of vintage racing cars, of the latest in supercars or, as proven each year when Gordon McCall throws a party at the Monterey Jet Center, all of the above plus high-powered aircraft.
The McCall Motorworks Reunion was held for the 26th year Wednesday evening. It raises money for the 11-99 Foundation to benefit fallen California Highway Patrol officers and their families.
The mix of cars and aircraft — the latest in private jets and the most amazing of vintage and military fliers — provides visual appeal. This year, there was yet another category of motorized vehicle to behold — lowriders.
The Petersen Automotive Museum and ClassicCars.com celebrated their new partnership with a display of three of the low-and-slow customs. The museum offers much more in its current exhibit of lowrider art and automobiles.
