Pick of the Day: 1960 Buick Electra

-

Although the asking price on the Pick of the Day, a 1960 Buick Electra, is only $9,000, the private seller says the car isn’t merely for sale.

“I’m downsizing and am ‘interviewing’ to find the next caregiver for my delta-finned classic,” the seller notes in the car’s advertisement on ClassicCars.com.

After all, this is not just your typical nearly 60-year-old survivor.

The car appeared in Oliver Stone’s movie JFK, shot in 1991.

“I have contract from Camelot Productions (movie studio), paycheck stub, movie PR announcement and movie poster included in sale,” the seller promises.

The seller is the second owner of the car and purchased it in May 1984.

“Originally a north Louisiana car, it’s been in my dry garages in Texas for 33 years and now has 69,815 miles,” the seller notes.

The car, located in McKinney, Texas, has power steering and brakes — the brakes rebuilt “this week” — and the factory air conditioning, which needs work. The seller offers to include some additional chrome pieces.

The car is Dark Forest Green outside and green inside.
