Leake Auction Company’s annual hometown sale in Tulsa, Oklahoma, generated $8.4 million in sales last weekend with 470 of 651 lots hammered sold, a 72 percent sell-through rate.

The top sale of the three-day auction was a 2006 Ford GT that sold for $291,500 (prices include buyer’s fees). One other car, a 1959 Porsche 356A, also broke into six figures, selling for $181,500.

A 1957 Cadillac Eldorato Biarritz just missed at $99,000.

Several other cars were bid into six figures but the bids didn’t reach the owners’ reserve prices.

“Each year our Tulsa auction continues to exceed our expectations,” Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company, said in a news release.

“The River Spirit Expo provides 446,000 square feet of space for us to display some of the most beautiful and sought-after collector cars. We have a new online bidding platform provided by IronPlanet. There were 172 people actively bidding online from across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“The collector car market continues to remain strong.”
