Day-before car shows are becoming increasingly popular at concours d’elegance venues across in the United States. The Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance has announced plans for its annual Show & Glow by the Lake event, scheduled August 27 at Veterans Park on the Milwaukee lakefront.

The glow has been part of the concours formerly was known as the Milwaukee Masterpiece. One thing that makes it unusual is that the entry fee not only allows a car to be shown on Saturday, but covers the admission for the driver and passenger to the concours on Sunday.

The glow also raises money for three local charities — the Autism Society of SE Wisconsin, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, and Meta House.

While the concours is restricted to invited vehicles in specific classes, the glow is open not only to any car, but to boats and motorcycles as well.

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., when a parade-style “grand exit” takes place so the grounds can be readied for the concours the following day.

Registration information is available at the concours’ website.
