Editor’s note: This is the fifth in a 30-day sponsored series featuring cars to be sold January 23-31 during Barrett-Jackson’s 45th Scottsdale auction.

The seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette was introduced in 2014 and was the first to bear the Corvette Stingray name since a third-generation model in 1976.

The newest Corvette was designed to provide a bold styling statement while showcasing as an evolutionary redesign to an iconic theme. Corvette enthusiasts can see traces of previous generation designs in the new C7 mixed with aggressive angular elements that provide functional aerodynamic aids.

The rear of the car was widened by 12 inches and the front was widened by 8 inches

This particular Corvette is a brand new, one-off custom 2014 Corvette 3LT Stingray convertible.

The 3LT package comes with a Bose 10-speaker audio system, SiriusXM radio, color head-up display, memory package, navigation system, heated and ventilated seats with power lumbar and bolster adjustment.

In terms of performance, the 3LT includes dry slump lubrication, close-ratio gearing, transmission cooling system, forged alloy wheels, large slotted rotors and brake-cooling ducts, and an electronic limited slip differential and differential cooling system.

Customization of this C7 began with disassembling the body and adding a custom wide-body kit. The rear of the car was widened by 12 inches and the front was widened by 8 inches. The body was refitted, making all the body gaps flawless, then it was removed again and painted custom Grabber Blue with six coats of clear that were wet-sanded and buffed to a mirror laser-straight finish.

Handmade, carbon-fiber lower valances and a spoiler were installed while the brake calipers were painted to match the car. The one-off custom wheels are 22-inch Forgiatos wrapped in Pirelli P Zero, Z-rated performance tires.

The factory LT1 engine was upgraded with an Edelbrock E-Force Stage 2 supercharger, cold-air intake, custom Magnaflow multimode performance exhaust system, and a custom tune and program to push out an astounding 700 horsepower.

The transmission is a performance GM 6-speed automatic with the optional paddle-shifter for race shifting. The suspension is the incredible GM performance suspension that has changeable mode for different road conditions.

A one-off handmade grille was installed and has LED custom running lights. The interior is fully loaded with all GM leather, racing bucket power seats and carbon-fiber accents.

The convertible top is custom black cloth and has power lift and retract. Only 350 actual miles are on this one-off Corvette.

Barrett-Jackson’s 45th Anniversary Scottsdale Auction, January 23-31 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, will feature over 1,400 vehicles, most selling at No Reserve. For information on becoming a bidder, visit Barrett-Jackson.com/bid or call 480-421-6694.
