Nissan North America celebrates the 28th annual International Z Car Convention, or Zcon, enthusiasts invited to participate July 7 on a 220-mile cruise, the #NismoRoadTrip, from the Nissan headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, to a Beale Street celebration in downtown Memphis.

The cruise will travel via Tennessee byway roads. Prior to the 9 a.m. departure, a cars-and-coffee gathering will be held.

A 1974 260Z 2+2, customized by the factory for the late Yuteaka Katayama, also known as Mr. K, complete with a full-metal retractable sun roof, will be on a trailer for the cruise. The car was Mr. K’s last company vehicle prior to his return to Japan.

Also on the road trip will be Hiroshi Tamura, the Nissan chief product specialist for the GT-R, Z and NISMO as well as former GT Academy U.S. winners Nick Hammann and Bryan Heitkotter.

“Zcon is a great opportunity to showcase some of our most exciting vehicles – past and present – and celebrate Nissan’s rich sports car heritage alongside an outstanding group of enthusiasts,” said Pierre Loing, vice president for Nissan product planning in North America.

To RSVP for the cruise, participants are asked to tweet the hashtag #NismoRoadTrip so organizers will know how many cars to expect.
