Registration remains available through May 23 for the 21st annual Hot Rod Power Tour, which this year travels June 6-13 from Madison, Wisconsin to Baton Rouge, Louisana.
But the tour gets a kickoff on June 5 when the RingBrothers and Painless Performance host the pre-tour party at the RingBrothers’facilities in Spring Green, about an hour from Madison. The party is open to participants and the public and will include guided tours of the show and rides with Jim Ring in his 900-horsepower 1971 Brave Winnebago “Happy Camper.”
Also on display will be the Ring-built 1966 “Recoil”Chevrolet Chevelle and the the Rings’new 1958 Ford F-100 shop truck.
“We are so excited to host such a cool event and to let everyone take a look into our world to see where we spend so much of our time working on cars,”Mike Ring said in a news release.
“Yeah,”added his brother Jim, “and I can’t wait to give people an E-ticket ride in our Happy Camper Winnebago!”
The event will feature locally hand-brewed beers, brats and cheese as well as welding demonstrations by Miller Welding. Power Tour participants can pick up their tour stickers.
